UPDATE APRIL 5, 2018: We’re happy to report that things are getting back to normal. The gardens, pool and grounds have largely recovered. Flowers abound. The green lush foliage has returned. We have been open and welcoming guests since the middle of December, 2017! St John’s National Park beaches are open. Shops, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, gas stations, car rentals, taxis, ferries …. back up and running. While you may see some scars of hurricanes Irma and Maria … the beauty of St John out shines everything! So come on down and join us. Soak up some sun. Swim in aqua blue waters. Snorkel beautiful coral reefs. Hike plantation-era trails, roads and discover history at every turn.
We were very fortunate that Estate Lindholm was not greatly damaged by Hurricane Irma, though we do have a pool deck, and a few smaller roofs to replace. Check out our Facebook page for regular pictures and updates.
We are well along the road for cleanup and repair, and we look forward to again greeting our guests beginning on December 1, 2017.
St. John was hit hard, but Mother Nature is resilient and already is healing fast. The ocean is again that gorgeous blue and green, and the sun is warm and bright. While we lost a number of our mature coconut and sea grape trees, the white sandy beaches were actually made wider and larger by the storm!
The VI National Park has the Northshore road cleared and looking good, and some bars and restaurants are already open for business. By Dec 1, we feel that Lindholm, and St. John, will once again be the gems of the Caribbean, and will be able to offer our guests a comfortable and fun escape from Winter. Our local utility company has help from the States, and great progress is being made with restoring electricity. (We also have a good generator that we are running on at this time.) There are lots of hurricane sights that will show you the amazing strength of Irma!
The best way to help Lindholm, and St. John, as a whole, to recover and to get back to normal is to visit, and to support the businesses and local economy.
Our web site and phones are working, so please book a reservation and come visit us! Gordon and I will share our exciting hurricane stories with you, around the breakfast tables on the patios, looking out at the blue Caribbean Sea.☀️🌈
