Welcome to Estate Lindholm

Originally settled in the 1720s by Dutch planters, the site of Estate Lindholm today is an intimate tropical inn set among restored Danish ruins adjacent to the National Park. The timeless charm of these historic ruins creates a simple elegance and a tranquil ambiance. Located on the hillside overlooking Cruz Bay Harbor, Estate Lindholm is the perfect point from which to enjoy all the beauty and activities that St. John has to offer. Each room enjoys views of the picturesque harbor of Cruz Bay, the island of St. Thomas, and the many other surrounding cays.

The Morrisette family has made their home on the property at Estate Lindholm since 1950. Brion Morrisette and his children still reside here and operate the bed and breakfast. The inn is managed by Tim Ressegiue and Savanna Morrisette, Brion’s stepson and daughter, who dearly love St. John and enjoy sharing their local knowledge of this beautiful island—along with its colorful history and culture—with our guests.

Activities

Guests may enjoy simply reading or sunbathing on their private balcony or relaxing poolside at the inn’s pool, which offers views of the harbor and St. Thomas.
St. John offers a wide range of activities and excursions such as hiking, scuba diving, snorkeling, sport fishing, parasailing, day sails, sea kayaking, windsurfing, island tours, and boat rentals. As St. John’s center of commerce, nearby Cruz Bay is home to businesses that offer all of these activities. We would be pleased to assist you with information or arrangements for any of them.
The white sand and tranquil turquoise waters of secluded Honeymoon and Salomon beaches are just a short hike from the Estate along National Park trails.
The fine shops, art galleries, jewelers, restaurants, and cafés of charming Cruz Bay are also within easy walking distance.
If you are interested in visiting other islands for the day, St. Thomas and its capital city, Charlotte Amalie, are renowned for duty-free shopping. In addition, the British Virgin Islands—Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, and Virgin Gorda—are easily accessible by organized day trips or scenic ferry rides.

Our Accommodations

Our 21 guest rooms feature private furnished balconies, spacious bathrooms, and wet bar areas with mini refrigerators, coffee makers, and microwaves, as well as air conditioning and complimentary high-speed internet.
Our most historic room, the Plantation Cottage, is a renovation of the original house built by the Morrisette family. It incorporates structures from the early 1700s and retains the 18-inch-thick stone, brick, and cut coral walls of the 18th-century ruin.
The Salomon and Haulover rooms are our new penthouse accommodations, offering stunning third-floor views. Beautiful double French doors open wide to the scenery, and each room includes a convenient wet bar and luxuriously appointed furnishings. Haulover is also one of our six rooms featuring a king-size bed.

Our Services

Daily breakfast and housekeeping are included with your stay.

Our breakfast includes a full range of beverages: hot and cold coffee, water, and fruit juices. You can choose from assorted Caribbean fruit, plain or vanilla yogurt, cereal, and hard-boiled eggs. The hot selections feature warming oatmeal and classic French toast. Enjoy a variety of baked goods: assorted bagels, a variety of muffins, and English muffins, with a toaster and microwave available for your convenience.
For your convenience, beach towels, floats, chairs, and soft coolers are provided for your use. We also offers free on-site parking for guests who choose to rent a car.

The property is equipped with an automatic backup generator that ensures electricity in your room and the property during island-wide outages.

A large ice machine with complimentary ice is also available.
If you’d like to rent snorkeling gear, there are several locations in Cruz Bay, including the Beach Bum shop located at Wharfside Village.
